Picture overload

For those of you who don't care to see our last month played out in pictures, feel free to come back another day. :)

A few weeks ago, after going to the doctor with 2 kids in the pouring rain, I decided that I needed a little pick-me-up. So I told Eva, "It was a rainy day, too wet to go outside. Mommy said..." To which she replied, "LET'S MAKE CUPCAKES!" (It's the opening from one of our favorite books, Pinkalicious.)

Here is my little helper:
Notice the chocolate on her face? :) Yeah, she's that helpful. Unfortunately the cupcakes didn't work out so well. They all stuck to the pan because I was out of cupcake liners and the Pam didn't work that day, apparently. So we turned them all into cake balls. Yum!

A few day later, we packed up our cake balls and headed to Tulsa for Labor Day. After Eli had an ABSOLUTE MELTDOWN in the car, we had to stop. At Eva's suggestion, we ended up switching their car seats. The difference was night and day. As it turns out, I think he just wasn't that comfortable in his old car seat, but Eva seems to love it. He never cried another tear the rest of the way to Tulsa or the entire trip home. He still wouldn't sleep, but at least he was comfortable. When we were almost there, he started a game of peek-a-boo.
"Where's Eli?"
There he is!

After getting to Mimi and Ty-Ty's house, we all needed some outside play time in the thick, soft grass.
And this little girl is determined to climb a tree. Or at least hang from one like a monkey!

When we got home, Eva started half-day preschool three days a week. She LOVES it!!! This was her first day, and was the best attempt at a picture because we were running late. Or at least I thought we were running late until I got there and realized that school started at 12:45 and not 12:30.

Work has been pretty crazy for Ryan lately, and one day was particularly hard recently. So we had a "We love Daddy!" party waiting for him when he got home. It was so much fun for Eva and me to get it all set up and daddy ended up feeling pretty special. :)

This is the picture I see most afternoons when I say the magic phrase, "Daddy's almost home!" This day we had the windows open enjoying the cool breeze and I just couldn't get over the sweetness.

Our days are not complete without many, many, many games of pretend. Eva was pretending to be Little Red Riding Hood. Which of course means that I was the big bad wolf. :) Why am I always the bad guy?!?!

I think this little girl is pretty cute. Nothing special about the day, other than I thought she looked like a buttercup!

Recently I made an apple pie to take to some friends' who had invited us over for dinner. It was the best apple pie ever, if I don't say so myself. This friend requested another apple pie to take to a staff meeting and she paid me to make it! Let me know if you need a pie!

Eva's self-portrait:

And this is a terrible picture, in which we all had our eyes squinted and closed. It is the only picture I have that shows my belly and some of you have asked. So here you go.

I think I was 28 or 29 wks pregnant here. I'm 31 wks now, so I don't know, you can do the math. It was taken Labor Day weekend.

Okay, that's my picture and update overload!

Not Overload, AT.ALL. I love all the pictures, especially the one of the entire family including baby F (still no-name, right?).

And I haven't given up on blogging; this month has been particularly brutal at work, which is where I usually blog. Nick keeps hounding me about it, so hopefully, I'll have something up soon. Love you, friend!
