Mark my words, Eli is going to pick this week to want to quit sleeping and to spend his days and nights crying and wanting to be held. Hopefully not.
I have been thinking about perspective again the last couple of days in preparation for Eva leaving. When she was born, I think my world crashed in around me and I didn't know what in the world had happened to me. Sleep? Gone. Sanity? Gone. My abs? Gone. Okay, that last one doesn't have anything to do with what I'm talking about here... it was really just for effect. Anyway, now there are two kids and I'm thinking how easy it was when there was just one. (I know that some of you with lots of kids are laughing at me and my 2 kid saga and that's okay.) When Eva was a baby, I could follow the whole "sleep when the baby sleeps" advice. That's just not possible this go around. When Eva sleeps, Eli often thinks that is when he should wake up and eat.
On a semi-related note, I have been completely annoyed at all of the magazine articles, books, etc. that have baby-related advice because all of the advice is fabulous if it's the only child. Case in point: "Sleep when he sleeps!" Someone (maybe me???) needs to write a book on how to survive the first 2 months when you have other little ones in the home.
Chapter one: How to survive when you live in Kansas City and your mama is 14 hrs away...
Anyone want to pre-order their copy? I feel like it could be a best-seller.
Well, I'm going to take that advice now because my little precious is sleeping. Good night!

I will order a copy of your book and endorse it too!!! Hopefully Mr. Eli will still be a good boy for you and Eva will magically start sleeping all through the night when she gets home! :)
Night One: The Mister was up every 2 hrs...which he has never done before, even as a newborn!
