For the Sister

Yesterday, I found myself racing into Target with two little boys.  One of whom, may or may not have been wearing shoes.  :)  Whoops.  It was an unexpected trip, but when Eli asked if we could go to Target when I picked him up from school, I buckled under the peer pressure.  (Technically his request was, "We go see toys?"  And then as we passed Chick-fil-a on the way to Target he said, "We not go eat french fries.  We go see toys.") (And this mama knows that "toys"= "Target" in his mind.)

(Am I overusing the parenthetical notations today?)

When we pulled into the parking lot from the front side of the store instead of the back side of the store, he got very mad at me because that isn't the right way! So I drove across the parking lot so that we would be on the store side of the parking lot rather than the street side of the parking lot and this made his little brain feel much better.  Lesson learned.

But I digress.

So we were in Target and Eli wanted to walk through the dollar section to see this caterpillar toy that they have had in there the last few times. And there I spotted it.  It was just her size.  Pink with gold-ish stripes and reversible to be plain pink on the other side.  I could envision my girl taking this bag everywhere.  And with a price tag that suited our budget, I bought it.

I knew that not only would Eva love this bag, but she deserved this bag.  For the last month or so, we've been buying the boys little toys when they poop on the potty.  And not only has this sweet girl never complained about not getting a toy, she has cheered her little brothers on with high fives and marshmallows and lots of verbal encouragement.  She has such a sweet heart.

On top of all of that, she is such a helper with the boys in other ways.  Eli has a hard time when kids cry and so anytime Isaac cries, he runs to his room and shuts the door.  On more than one occasion, I have found Eva in the room playing with him and trying to distract him.  Conversely, when Eli has a meltdown, it requires my full attention, and she has taken Isaac into another room to play with him.  She does this without ever being asked.

How am I so lucky?  I feel so blessed by her.

Love my Eva-girl!
