Random ramblings

Yesterday, this little girl spent her afternoon outside building a bed for a grasshopper her brothers found in the yard. She was very concerned that the grasshopper didn't have a comfortable bed, so she tore leaves off a branch and stacked them neatly. She went on to tell me that she wanted to take care of all of the animals! I told her that is what veterinarians do and she declared that she would in fact become a vet so she could take care of the animals. I reminded her that, like her mother, she is allergic to most of God's creatures. And that's when she declared that "it's NOT FAIR!" And who would take care of all the animals?!? I reminded her that God was completely capable of taking care of His creation without her help. I assured her that there were lots of other people who are not allergic to every thing with four legs who could be great caretakers of "all the animals!".
I love her heart, though! Precious, precious girl.
Here are the boys and their grasshopper.

I was thinking this morning about how I really don't like waking up early. I never have. But! I was counting blessings this morning as I was sitting in the dark living room with my two early risers and soaking up all the snuggles. One boy laying on my chest, one cuddles up on my shoulder. They are my happy place. :)

Ryan and Eva had planned a camp out last night. The original plan was for a tent in the backyard. But the weather had other ideas, so the tent was put up in the basement. They played cards and then watched Home Alone. They are two peas in a pod! So cute. We'll see how well the dad slept... Don't tell him I said so, but he's kind of a high maintenance sleeper. Ha!

I got a date with this little French-fry lover on Monday. Daddy had Monday off after working all weekend. So I picked this little guy up from school and we went to chick-fil-a. He told the lady taking our order that he was getting a surprise!

He has some really hilarious things he says these days. He gets girl/boy, him/her, and Mr./Mrs. confused. He has also really taken to the manners lessons from school. So when he wants something he usually says to me, "Um, escuse me Mr. Mama..." It's so funny. He also calls his teacher at school "Mr. Jennifer", but her name isn't even Jennifer. No matter how many times we remind him, he still calls her Mr. Jennifer. I guess he thinks we are the ones who don't know her name! :) He calls his speech therapist Jennifer also, her name is Brandy. :) And most adult men he refers to as Mr. Matt. We don't really know. I guess it's just easier to remember two names than to worry about all of the names he hears.

Love that little boy!
