There is power in His Name

Last night we were all sleeping just as soundly as we always do. (That is, I sleep soundly when no one is waking me up for various reasons thoughout the night.) Then Ryan and I heard screaming. The kind of screaming that makes you hurt yourself trying to get out of bed fast enough. It was loud and hysterical crying that we soon realized was coming from Isaac's room. Isaac was on the floor. We still aren't sure if he fell out of bed or if he had a bad dream and got out of bed. Ryan scooped him up and assured him that we were there and that he was ok. He continued to cry hearty cries. I rubbed his back and held his hand. He continued to cry.

But then Ryan began to sing Jesus loves the little Isaacs, all the Isaacs of the world... And I kid you not, the moment Ryan sang the name Jesus, Isaac stopped crying. He calmed down and within a couple of rounds of the song, Ryan was able to lay Isaac back down and he went back to sleep for the rest of the night.

Like I said, I don't know what made him wake up crying, but I know what made him stop! The sweet, sweet name of Jesus.

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11 NIV)

There is power in His name!
