Christmas and stuff

I've had so many blog thoughts running through my head in the last week, but haven't had the exact inspiration to put them all into words. So, I'll just share the thoughts and maybe you'll get the point. For example, while in Tulsa visiting Ryan's family, we made a quick trip to the local Bass Pro store to get a little gift for a gift exchange. While enjoying my redneck surrounding, I noticed that there were lots of men wearing camo... in this store that's completely normal. The part that struck me as interesting and made me laugh out loud while in the store is that more than half of these people (in camo) were all drinking Starbucks! Starbucks carries certain stereotypes with the type of people you find there, as does Bass Pro. But clearly, not the same stereotype, so it just struck me as humorous. Maybe I'm the only one. Christmas was super fun this year, except for Eva's stomach bug that she had that prevented her from eating anything more than crackers the whole time we were with her grandparents. It was really sad, but she's doing better now. In fact, as I'm writing this, she's crying because I told her she couldn't have any cookies. We discovered that she likes ginger snaps while she was sick. One night out of desperation, I kind of jokingly asked her if she would eat a cookie because she hadn't eaten anything all day. That's when she discovered ginger snaps and she's been asking for them ever since. Now back to the fun part of Christmas, she came around the corner on Christmas morning to see a big Elmo doll waiting for her. She said "Elmo!" and ran to him and then gave him nose kisses. It was super sweet! ... I know I had more thoughts, but I"ve been interrupted multiple times and I just don't remember them right now. So check back and I'll add more. I'll also add pictures really soon, too.

Hilarious. You know, I lived in Saline, LA non-stop until I was 20 years old. Then I went off to college, but still went home at least once a month. Well, then I moved away to Longview and then to Phoenix, AZ, lived there for a few years and then moved back to TX for a year or so. All total, I was gone from Saline about 10 years. We got to live there for about 6 months before we left to come here. Well, when we moved there last year for those 6 months, we got there right at the peak of hunting season. I remember going to Jonesboro to Wal-Mart and seriously, EVERYone was wearing camo. It was the funniest thing. I was literally cracking up walking down the aisles.

But, I have to say, NONE of them was drinking Starbuck's. That is SO funny...and I completely agree with you. Doesn't really fit the stereotypes. Thanks for sharing. I got a good laugh just thinking about it.
