When Ryan and I were still contemplating and praying about the move, we realized that I would most likely have to find a job. Bummer! You all know that my heart is to be at home with my baby. But I"m trying to see God's bigger picture. I feel like part of my role in allowing Ryan to fulfill his role is to help support our family financially until God provides a way for me to be at home.
So I started looking around and found a church that has a Mother's Day Out program as well as a preschool program. I emailed the director and told him that we were considering moving to the area and was curious if there were any teaching positions available and I sent him my resume. A couple of days later, I called him to follow up. The phone call was such a confirmation to me that we are going where we are supposed to go. This minister told me that there would likely be a position open in November. He then went on to say that I was too qualified to work as a MDO teacher. He said that they had been discussing at the recent deacon's meeting the church's need to minister to families of children with special needs. The church is wanting to start this kind of ministry pretty soon, but is still just praying about the details. He said that there are a couple of families that have started coming to their church who have children with autism. I told him that I had worked with several children with autism spectrum disorders in my current job. He was very excited about that and told me that I might be the answer to their prayers regarding this ministry. He in no way offered me a job at the end of our phone call, but it was so encouraging to me. I'm supposed to call him once we get to the area and get settled. I am so excited about the possibility. I would love to be a part of that kind of ministry.
I would love it if you all would pray about this with me. And I, of course, will keep you posted.

That's so cool! I told mom about you guys moving there the other day and mom had just heard great things about Kansas City the night before. Some of her friends had just spent some time there for work, and they were really impressed with it. It was a family with three young kids. They said that the city was so clean and everything was really nice. They loved it!

Hi Haley...I have been meaning to "Thank you" for your blog tribute for Ty-Ty's birthday. As you know my company's firewall prevents me from reading it from work. Since I am on the computer most of the day, it is really painful to do anything on the computer once I get home from work. It was a few days after my birthday that I read your blog and it has been several weeks of procratination in getting around to thanking you for your special tribute. I did love the pictures and your comments...you are right, Eva captured my heart the moment I held that precious little girl in my arms. Haley, you also have captured my heart...it didn't take me long at all, to realize that God had finally answered my prayers for a Godly wife for my son, Ryan. I saw the "Sparkle" of love in your eyes when you were around him. There is no doubt of your love to the Lord and my words can't express the way you care for and your love for our precious Eva. I have, and will continue to thank God for bringing you into our family. I do check your eyes from time to time...my son just better never, never do any thing that would take that sparkle from you!!!!! Again, thank you Haley for being who the Lord created you to be! I love you and I continue to Praise my God for you!!!!
