First things first, sorry to my blog fans :) that have been missing my posts. Life has been busy lately and Ryan and I have been praying through a big decision that I'll tell you about another time. Sooner rather than later, I promise.
Next, we'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our family. (pictured below) His name was originally Harry, but Eva can't say her "H" sounds yet, so she calls him "Terry" and Ryan and I followed the leader and now we all call him Terry Lion. He's so soft. Terry was picked out by Eva in hopes that he would "protect" her at night time and she wouldn't be scared, therefore sleeping better. It was a great idea. Although she LOVES Terry, she does not want him to sleep in the bed with her. I don't get it, but now we just have another animal to play with during the day time. Oh well, he's still really cute.
The following picture is just another day of playing. Even though it was 107 degrees outside, Eva wanted to wear this winter fleece hat. Just an idea of how tiny she is, this hat is a 6-12 month size. Little peanut.

That leads us to our last pitiful picture. This is what our beautiful little girl looks like today. Poor kid.

Here's the story. Last night, Eva woke up 4-5 times and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. It was a long night. Well, this morning, after she ate breakfast, I was cleaning her hands and noticed an ant bite that was really swollen. (I took a picture of it also, but it was too hard to see.) Then it was time to watch Sesame Street, so we went to get her Elmo chair. This is the daily routine, after all. The chair was covered in ants. I assumed that she got the ant bite there this morning while she was playing. So we took the chair outside, killed all the ants, and carried on with our morning. Then later, we were in Eva's room and I noticed 2 ants on the floor. I killed them and then tried to find their source. I quickly learned that there were ants in Eva's bed! No wonder she couldn't sleep last night! I wouldn't sleep either if there were ants in my bed. Her swollen eye is a result of an ant bite on her eye. I found a total of 4-5 ant bites on her and they're all big and puffy. That equals one ant bite for every time she woke up. Ryan and I feel like terrible parents, but we obviously know that there was no way we could have known. I have taken care of every ant in a one mile radius so hopefully we'll all sleep better tonight.

Bless that baby girl's heart! So sad! You shouldn't feel bad, though. There is no way you could have known. I felt really awful after Ella cried a lot one night, and I realized that it was because she had thrown up in her crib. I didn't discover this until morning. You feel guilty but then realize that 9 times out of 10 they are upset because they just don't want to go to sleep. Then, something like this happens and makes you second guess their crying for a while afterward.
I hate ants, and I'm very angry at the ones that bit Eva. I'm glad you killed them :) Praying for your "big decisions" ahead.
Oh poor thing! That looks quite painful. As I was reading your blog I started getting goose bumps and thinking ants were on me, hah! Hope you have a better night's sleep!
OH NO!!! Poor thing, isn't it crazy how something so little (the ant) can be so painful!!! Hopeful she & Terry will sleep much better tonight!
Oh my goodness, no wonder she got up so much! Don't you hate those pesky ants!!!! I'm sure you freaked when you realized! I'm sure you've gotten rid of an ant is a mile radius of your house, haha!
Love the Terry story! So cute!!
