A very strange phenomenon

There are some things in life that can be explained and some that cannot.  For the last year or more, Eva has been a fingernail biter.  I am not sure that I had ever known a toddler that bit her fingernails, but mine did.  We always tried to discourage it, but it never seemed to help.  We put it in the "in the grand scheme of things, this isn't a big deal" basket.  We would remind her to take her fingers out of her mouth, but didn't try to punish her or anything like that and generally just didn't make a big deal out of it.

Well about a month ago, I noticed that I needed to cut Eva's fingernails.  I thought it strange, but didn't think much more about it.  I just cut them and moved on.  The next week, I had to cut her fingernails again.  Really strange.  So, then I started paying closer attention.  She never bites her fingernails anymore.  I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but she apparently stopped biting her nails around the time that we moved out of the apartment and into this house.

Ryan and I were discussing if she was really that stressed during that time of life.  I have no idea.  Maybe we need a child psychologist to do a little evaluation.  Nothing else has changed other than moving.

Anyway, I cut her fingernails again this morning, all 10 of them and it made me think about all of this.  I also cut her toenails, while she giggled the entire time.  Apparently her feet and toes are very ticklish... or tickly as she says.

Carter bites his nails. Great... now you've got me wondering what life event has my toddler stressed out. Pass me the name of your child psychologist. Thanks Haley.

Oh no...well let's just call it a phase...but if she picks it up when the baby comes those first few days...then maybe so!
