8 months

Look who's 8 months old today! I can barely write the words! How is it possible that my baby boy is 8 months old already? That face has been melting my heart for exactly 8 months now. At 4:51 pm 8 months ago, they put that big ole' boy up on my chest and those big eyes opened and looked at me and I was hooked in an instant!

On a side note, I still think it's funny that two green-eyed parents had a brown-eyed girl and a blue-eyed boy. Those recessive jeans are a funny thing!

Okay, back to my big guy. At 8 months, here is what you've been up to:

-You've been sleeping through the night (12 hrs!!!) for almost a week now. I feel like a new mommy!
- You are talking so much! My favorite thing is to hear you talking in your bed first thing in the morning. You say "dada" all the time. And tonight when I told you "night- night", you said "na-na". I know I'm biased, but I think you're pretty darn smart. Sometimes you can say "mama", but sometimes it sounds like it gets stuck in our mouth and we hear, "mmmmmmaaa". It's super cute!
- You still love to eat! Just in the last week or so, you have decided that you are just about over being spoon fed baby food. You get so frustrated with us. But you can't quite feed yourself yet either. You pick little food pieces up and get them to your mouth, but you can't quite figure out how to open that chubby little hand and get the food out. You are a much more adventurous eater than Eva, so far.
-You will be a much more contented baby once you can figure out how to crawl. There has been much frustration this month as you scoot the opposite direction from what you are reaching. With help, you can get on your hands and knees and stay for just a few seconds. You'll be figuring it all out soon and then it will be a whole new level of craziness around here.
-You have also officially given up your pacifier this month. It was a hard couple of nights, but I think it helped you be a better sleeper. Our one benefit from the terrible congestion that came with RSV.
- Your first tooth came in this month, too! I miss that toothless smile, though. :(

I think that's our month in a nutshell!

We love you, Eli!

Oh my goodness - I hadn't even thought of the date today w/all my stuff! What a darling, cute grandson I have there ..:) Does he just get cuter every month - or am I just a Mimi? (both, I'm sure!) I just saw this little guy a few weeks ago, and he looks older....

Please give him a kiss from Mimi! (Eva, too!)
