On Saturday, our sweet boy turned one! I can hardly believe how fast the last year has gone. I almost couldn't put him to bed on Friday night because there was just something about knowing that he would wake up a one year old that was almost too much to bear! But, alas, he went to sleep and I managed to not cry. It was a successful evening. :)
Ryan's parents (aka Mimi and Ty-Ty) were here on Saturday for party part one. We did a little Mickey Mouse theme. And by theme, I mean that we had Mickey mouse napkins and one Mickey gift bag. Ha!

My parents arrived on Sunday and we continued with party part two, which was a baseball theme. As you can tell by the cake:

Obviously Eli enjoyed devouring a cupcake. He was COVERED with crumbs and icing and had to be taken immediately to the bath tub. It was so fun!

There were a ridiculous amount of gifts thanks to the grandparents. Eli inspected them all thoroughly.

We were wanting to do something fun to commemorate his birthday. I came up with the idea of having everyone sign this baseball. He can keep it forever and read messages of love and encouragement anytime he needs it.

And just for fun, this is a picture after baby boy had spaghetti recently. He has now gotten to the stage of smiling whenever you point a camera at him. It's amazing how quickly they all learn that!

Happy 1st birthday sweet Eli! We love you so much and are having so much fun as we learn to parent you. It is a joy to watch your personality develop in all of its mischievousness. :) You are 100% boy and we wouldn't have it any other way. And though, that is true, you still love to crawl up to me just to give some hugs and then you want down so you continue to play. You absolutely love to stand at our window and watch the cars go by. Sometimes you wave to them and sometimes you yell some jibberish to them. But as soon as daddy drives up at the end of the day, you get beyond excited! It is so sweet!!!
You are not walking yet, but that is perfectly fine. You'll do it when you're ready. In the mean time you can get anywhere you want pretty quickly by speed crawling. Well, you can get almost anywhere... except for down the stairs. But you get pretty excited when someone takes you down the stairs. It always makes us laugh to hear your excitement.
Other loves:
-Saying "Uh oh!"
- Eating blueberries.
-Swimming and taking a bath.
- Wrestling
- Dancing
-Trucks
- Eva... and the rest of your family. You just get so excited when you see someone you love!
Happy birthday sweet boy! We are so proud to call you our son! We love you to pieces!
