Lousy-ana, why must you be so far from Kansas City?

We are in Louisiana this week. Enjoying some fun family time and getting ready for a wedding on Saturday. Not enjoying the fact that it took us essentially 3 days to get here. We left Kansas City on Friday evening and arrived in Tulsa, OK around 11 pm that night. The first leg of our journey taught us that Eli is not a good car sleeper. Saturday morning we tried to recuperate a little for the second leg of our journey... which was supposed to be the final leg of our journey. Eli ended up sleeping for about 4 hours on Saturday so we ended up not getting on the road quite as early as planned. About 6 hrs into day two it was confirmed that Eli is just not a car sleeper and we needed to find a place to land for the night. So we called the bride-to-be and the father of the bride and asked if we could crash at their house in Shreveport, LA. It ended up being just what we needed. We got there around 11 pm Saturday night. And then graciously survived the last 2 hours of our journey on Sunday morning. We were completely wiped out by the time we got here, but were so glad to have grandparents to give us some reprieve.

And guess what? We get to do it all over again starting Sunday morning! How excited are we?!? At least we'll already be in Shreveport on Sunday and are only going back to Tulsa on Sunday b/c Ryan took Monday off, too.

All of that is worth it to be here for my cousin Emilie's wedding. I'm her Matron of Honor and Eva is her flower girl so it was kind of imperative that we be here. :) So excited for her! She is such a beautiful person inside and out and will make an even more beautiful bride. I can't wait for the festivities to begin!

In the meantime, we are enjoying my daddy's home made beignets! Yum! And lots of other treats that I will totally regret when I go for my next check up. :)

That's it from Lousy-ana!

I totally understand your road trip. We don't miss living so far from family! Going back and forth from FL to TX was to say the least hard at times :)
