MY GOD IS BIGGER THAN POLITICS!!!
So, we move on. And we trust that he is more than capable of accomplishing his purposes in and through us. He will only work through us, though, if we are willing to be used.
With that in mind, God has been doing a lot in my heart lately. Reminding me that I'm so quick to say, "I need..." when really more accurately it's something I want. We as Americans, have all sorts of mixed up ideas of needs and wants.
I've learned a lot lately about sex trafficking in this world. It is a disgusting, gut-wrenching, nausea-inducing event that occurs more than we first-world citizens care to believe. But friends, it is happening. And I don't think we have to ask IF we should get involved. I think we should ask God HOW we can get involved in stopping this. It's happening with children. It's happening with teenagers. It's happening with adults who feel they have no other choice than to sell themselves in order to provide for their children.
There are ministries that are helping these women all around the world.
Have you heard of the Mocha Club? They are rescuing women in Ethiopia, educating them, teaching them a skill, and providing counseling to them to help free them from the guilt of their past! Can we shout "Praise Jesus"!!!
Well, my friend Brittany is trying to raise $1600 right now in order to set FOUR women free! $400 is all it takes to set one woman free from prostitution. Four hundred dollars! That's more money than I have, but what if instead of buying gifts for your kids teachers this year, we all made a donation on their behalf to this ministry? What if instead of asking for something else that I don't really "need" for Christmas I ask for that money to go to this ministry?
What if a whole bunch of Christians decided to think bigger than themselves this Christmas? What could God do with a whole bunch of willing hearts?
Now, go donate at Brittany's blog or go straight to The Mocha Club and donate. But, if Brittany raises $1600, she has promised to dye her hair pink and that is something I want to see! :)

Such a great post!! I too have thought over and over that God is the one who sets Kings into power! Maybe the next four years are for us to be on our knees in realization of our need for Him!!!
Also, I too have recently learned about trafficking. My friend just put on a race called, "run for their lives" that helps get women out of it! Those same friends are trying to plan a trip to Costa Rica, where a lot of it happens, to build a safe home for women who escape from it! It blows my mind that this is going on! Thank you Haley for being so kingdom-minded! I told Jaaf yesterday that I would move just to be closer to you guys!! We love you and are so thankful for you and your hearts!!
