"Frumpy"
I was going to write about Eva's first haircut that she had this weekend, but I didn't get pictures of her this afternoon because it was a little crazy. So, I'll try to fix her hair tomorrow and add pictures. Oh, and I never could get the video of her dancing to work. Now on to making sense out of that title. Tonight, I was reading a post on Beth Moore's blog that made me laugh out loud multiple times. She was talking about her husband calling her dress a "frock" although, she's thinking he meant "smock". This got me to thinking and laughing about when Ryan and I were newly married... I mean really newly married, like just a couple of months. I'm pretty sure that I didn't have a job yet at this point, so I spent my days looking and applying for jobs and then I spent much of my time decorating our little apartment and trying to be a cute little wife. On this particular day, I don't recall exactly what I was wearing... maybe jeans and a t-shirt, something like that at least. Ryan came in and pronounced joyfully, "You look frumpy!" Immediately, my bottom lip puckered out. I was wounded. That is not what any new wife wants to be told. Being the intuitive counselor that he is, he sensed that maybe "frumpy" wasn't what he meant. He said, "What's wrong?" I told him that frumpy was not a compliment. He said, "I thought 'frumpy' meant sporty and cute?" I said, "No. 'Frumpy' means fat and yucky looking." I think we pretty quickly got a laugh out of it, although we get a bigger laugh out of it now. Life as a newlywed can be really funny. The first year of marriage isn't nearly as difficult as many people say. We had a blast! Despite me being a little "frumpy". :)

Oh Haley! That is such a funny, sweet story! Mainly b/c Ryan is so nice, I can't imagine him telling you that you looked frumpy. I am so glad we caught up the other night!! I can't wait to come out and see you! The only weekend in March I have plans is the weekend of the 7th-9th. Let me know what works for you! :0)
that is so funny because when Austin and I were first married, he told me that a dress I was wearing looked homely. We were in the car with Austin's parents and they immediately got onto Austin for what he said, but he had no idea that homely was a bad thing to say. Boys are funny.
