Pray without ceasing...

Eva is a picky eater and there are only a few foods that she LOVES. Last night, she got one of her favorites... macaroni and cheese. She was standing beside me in the kitchen as I was fixing her plate and as she saw the macaroni land on her "Dora" plate, she started exclaiming, "Radidis. Radidis!" and clapping her hands. Radidis is the way she says "ravioli". I realize that isn't all that close, but it's the best she can do. She can say something close to macaroni, but without any prompting, all pasta is usually "radidi". We think it's pretty cute.

Then we sat down to eat dinner. Eva had already started eating by the time Ryan and I were seated and ready to eat. As soon as we sat down she said, "Pray." It was so sweet. So we said our prayer and then started to eat. Well, a couple of bites later, she said "pray" again. So we prayed again. This continued a couple more times. And then she started saying, "Pray. Russ." Russ is my middle brother for those who don't know. So, we prayed, "Thank you Jesus for Uncle Russ." Then she asked to pray for Russ again. It was so sweet. Ryan and I were laughing that Eva was reminding us to pray without ceasing during dinner.

I'm continually amazed at the perception that an almost 2 year old can have. I can't help but think that it made Jesus happy to hear that little voice saying, "Thank you Jesus. Amen." It definitely challenges me in a whole new level to live out my beliefs as I do my best to show her the love of Jesus.
