(Let's all say it together.) HOORAY!!!
She gave me a handout about vbac and reminded me that this meant that they wouldn't be able to induce me, which is even better, because that increases the risk of a uterine rupture. (Just so no one is freaked out or anything... the normal risk is only about 1%. And that's the same for anybody.) After the doctor left the room today, Ryan and I just looked at each other and breathed a deep sigh of relief. It was what we needed.
And our fun bonus was being able to hear the baby's heartbeat!!! They could barely pick it up because I'm only 10 weeks (tomorrow). And then, once she found it we heard it just briefly, and then the battery died on the little Doppler device. Ryan did ask her about the number of heartbeats and she said she only heard one, but also said that it was too early to detect multiple heartbeats. The doctor did an exam though and I don't seem to be too big, so I really doubt that there is more than one little one swimming around in there.
When Eva was in tummy, she would always swim away from the heart beat monitor. And then when she got bigger, she would kick that monitor. It always made the doctor laugh at her feistiness. I think that Eva was part feisty, part shy. Still is. A little daddy, a little mommy. :)
So all is well here! I'm still sick, but should only have about 4 weeks of that left. That's doable. I think it is anyway. Tomorrow morning I will likely be singing a different tune.
