Oops!

I forgot to tell everyone about one of the coolest things about my grandpa. He liked to feed the squirrels at his house. He loved sitting out on his back porch in his rocking chair (that's where he drank most of his coffee). I have no idea how he became friends with his squirrels, but he did. Paw-paw would sit in his rocking chair with a container of pecans and tap them on the arm of his chair. We always had to be really quiet and really still. After a few minutes of Paw-paw's rhythmic tapping, the squirrels began to come. There was one squirrel that would come all the way up and sit on his knee and then eat the pecan right out of his hand! It was amazing. The other squirrels would come up to his feet and then he would toss them the pecans and they would sit and eat. He even had names for 2 of them, but now I can't remember what they were. I always loved sitting out there with him as he called the squirrels to eat. Those are the things I'll miss about my grandpa. I've never known anyone else to make friends with squirrels.
