A funk...

Lately, I've been in a bit of a funk.  It mostly revolves around me being selfish and being a little upset that God isn't giving me what I want when I want it.  I know, very 2 yr. old of me.  Admit it, though, you've done it, too.  After a little time with Jesus, today, things are back in perspective for me.  If I think for too long, I can still quickly ease back to the "dark" side.  So, today, I'll write about happy things.

This weekend, I had such an amazing weekend with fun college friends.  Ryan and I along with my 2 best girlfriends from college and their husbands rented a cabin on a lake in east Texas.  We had so much fun.  And I would post pictures, but my camera is dead and I haven't had time to get new batteries.  That will have to wait for this weekend.  Anyway, this weekend was the first time that Ryan and I have gotten away without Eva.  It was just what we needed.  We spent lots of time talking and playing games and even playing croquet.  I had never played that game before.  It was kind of fun, but it was also frustrating and I spent some time looking for four leaf clover.  Never found any.  Some friendships are just certain to last a lifetime and I'm so thankful for these friendships.

Today, Eva and I were out running errands and were in Target.  She was standing in her new favorite place... the back of the shopping cart.  I glanced over at her and noticed her skirt was pulled high.  Then I looked again and realized that she had taken her skirt completely off.  She was standing there in the cart without any pants.  Luckily I caught her before she took off the diaper!

On a related note, I think we're getting REALLY close to being ready to potty train.  She is showing more and more signs of readiness.  I'm so excited!

Hopefully my funk is gone and I can post more this next week.  I'll add pictures as soon as I get new batteries. :)

What a fun weekend! We still haven't had Ella stay overnight away yet, but your story inspires me to do so. I also like the part about Eva taking her skirt off in the store...and that she stands at the back of the cart so you can't reach her. Hilarious!
