2. For a girl who really loved Jesus, she also had a soft spot in her heart for "50 cent" you know... the rapper. I still get a smile when I hear "You can find me in the club..." Man, she was funny.
3. Rachel was a very beautiful girl, dressed great... except for this ugly brown purse that she adored. I think she knew it wasn't the prettiest purse in the world, but it was big enough to hold everything she could possibly need, should the small town of Arkadelphia, AR suddenly have a natural disaster.
I greatly miss my friend. I mostly miss just living life with her. But, more than anything I"m so thankful that she is now with Jesus. I have no doubt that she is praising Him at this very moment. I was listening to a song recently by Andrew Peterson called "No More Faith". It's a great song about the difficulty of living a life of faith. The chorus says, "When there's no more faith, no more hope, I'll see your face and Lord I'll know, there's no more faith, no more hope. I'll sing your praise and let them go for there's no more faith... only Love remains." What an amazing song that expresses exactly what Rachel is experiencing now. I long for the day when only His Love remains and I don't have to hope for heaven and I won't have to have faith in God anymore.
"Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we will see face to face. Now I know in part; then I will know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain; faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." ~ 1 Corinthians 13:12-13

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl. I was thinking about her just this last week, knowing that the 5-year anniversary was approaching. I know Rachel is very proud that you named your precious little girl in her memory. I pray little Eva Rachel will honor the Lord in her life as much as Rachel Schupe did. I think Rachel is even smiling at the fact that Eva has a little lamb named Schupe--and that it is one of her favorite stuffed animals, if not her very favorite! Heaven is a much richer place.
Give our love to her family.
Love you
Mom

A few days late on seeing this, but like your mom said, a beautiful post. Thank you for sharing the fun memories. I can just see her now with that not-so-cute purse cruising around campus to "Go shorty, its your Birthday, were gonna party like its your birhtday.."
Missing her too,
Lindsay
I have always loved thinking of your friendship with Rachel. Everytime I say Eva's whole name "Eva Rachel", I think of your Rachel. This was a beautiful tribute - it touched my heart. I truly believe God gave you to Rachel and Rachel to you for special season of life. There's nothing like true friendship in the Lord.

5 years seems like an eternity and two minutes all at once.. how is that possible?
