Last Sunday we finally made it to church for the first time since Isaac was born. No one was sick for the first time in what felt like a sweet forever. So we made it and we were only a few minutes late. It felt really good to be back. We LOVE our church. Then our pastor started preaching and I got so tickled because I looked at Ryan and said, "We made it to church but neither of us thought to bring a Bible!" Ahhh... there's always this week. :)
On Monday we got like 6-8 inches of snow and Ryan got a snow day! In the afternoon, he and Eva decided to go out and play. (More power to them... I'll stay inside where it's warm.) They took out the new sled and were having a blast in the front yard. Then they decided to try it in our steep back yard. First time down, no problem. Lots of laughs. Second time down, Ryan instinctively protected Eva as they were flying toward the fence, by turning the sled around. Unfortunately he went back first into the fence and we thought he had broken something. He's been in a lot of pain all week, but went and had x-rays yesterday and nothing is broken. Praise Jesus! We won't be sledding back there again. That night Eva told Ryan, "Daddy, maybe we should have stayed in the front yard." Oh and I got it on video, which I will try to upload later.
On Sunday night as we were getting ready to head to Life Group, Ryan laid Eli on the floor to change his diaper. When he was done, he grabbed Eli's hands and pulled him up. Eli immediately started crying. Very strange. While we were at Life Group, we noticed that Eli wasn't really wanting to use his arm. The next day it was worse. He wouldn't grab anything or pick anything up or even raise his arms to be picked up. But he wasn't acting like he was in pain and he didn't cry when we moved his arm. Since we were snowed in we decided to wait til the next day. On Tuesday it was the same thing. He needed his 18 month check up anyway, so I called the doctor and made an appointment for Wednesday. Long story short, his elbow was dislocated. The doctor popped it back in pretty easily and Eli didn't even flinch. The dr. said that it happens so easily with little ones. Poor little guy! He's good as new now, though!
I use the term "little guy" very loosely. Eli now weighs 27 1/2 lbs. and is just shy of 33 inches tall. He is officially the size Eva was at her 3 yr check up. How funny is that!?!?
Isaac has slept through the night twice this week! Hoping that trend continues. He is also smiling more and I could just eat those dimples for dinner!
Gotta run for now b/c Eli is digging in the trash. AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

I love all the stories about your little ones! I know Eli is a big boy, but aren't boys supposed to be? Ha! I can't wait to see updated pictures of Issac!
Glad Ryan and Eli are better! Lucy dislocated her elbow at about 2 1/2. Poor thing.
Eli reminds me so much of Ben. I get asked all the time if Ben & Lucy are twins since he weighs more than her, and is almost her height. Crazy.
