Bragging about my man

I LOVE my husband. He is always so great to me, but every now and then, he goes above and beyond. He does something that makes other women wish for something so great. Here's the story:

Yesterday, as I was working my lovely job, traveling from home to home, the urge came upon me. The urge to tinkle that is. Well, just in case I haven't mentioned it in a while, I don't work in the nicest of areas. The homes I go into are almost NEVER places that you would ask to use their potty. I have certain spots that I know are safe and relatively clean that I can stop to tinkle. This particular area, I knew that the local Subway had generally clean bathrooms. So I stopped and went inside. After taking care of business, I was head out the door when the manager behind the counter asked if he could help me. I smiled and said no thank you, then headed toward the door again. The manager then asked, "Did you just come in to use the bathroom?" I smiled and said, "Yes." Then, this lovely personality said, "Next time I"ll call the cops!" as he stomped toward the kitchen. I turned and said, "Okay!" smiling the whole time. Apparently, this guy thought that the police officers in his area have nothing better to do than be on potty patrol.

I told Ryan this story and he was a little upset. So, today, he decided to give Subway a call. He spoke to the manager who admitted he was on duty yesterday, but quickly back pedaled when he realized why Ryan was calling. Essentially the manager said that what happened wasn't right and he knew who had probably said that and he "would take care of this right away". Obviously, nothing is going to happen, and I really don't care. It just makes me so thankful to have a husband who will stand up for me when he feels that I've been mistreated. I love the nobility he has. For those of you who aren't married yet, don't settle for anything less.

(Ryan, you're my favorite!) ;)

I had NO idea where you were going with this story. I was just not getting the connection at first--great husband/potty break at Subway????

Yep, Ryan is a keeper. Thanks, Ryan, for taking care of "my girl."

And how RUDE of Subway! But you handled it beautifully--with a smile--and a SIGH, I am sure. :-)

Love you guys

I always knew I liked that Ryan! ;) I love that story! You know me, I would have been all flustered at Subway, apologizing profusely. I need to take a couple of lessons from you!

Good for Ryan!! Seriously, did the Subway man think you were doing drugs in the bathroom? Why would that bother him? I love that you just smiled and carried on!

I enjoyed the previous story also. I'm sure we will be told the same thing at Ella's two-year appt. Our doctor told us to give her Pediasure at our last appt because she is so picky. It is loaded with vitamins (including iron), and she loves the taste. Just make sure and get vanilla and not chocolate or strawberry. They can stain clothes!

Haley, I was reading your blog via the Gassid Boys blog! I just had to post a comment about your man Ryan. This goes way back to about 1994??? Ryan was always so good to be a friend to Jaafar when I was divorced, single, then newly married. Ryan would come by and pick Jaaf up and take him to school. He saved him from riding the dreaded school bus! =) I thank Ryan for being such a positive influence on Jaafar when he really needed that. Ryan also went to Liberty Church with Jaafar and helped him in his faith. There is probably a lot more to this than I know. I know Jaafar loves him & I do too!! So yes you do have a great husband, Jaafar has a great friend, and I am greatful! God bless! Andi (Jaafars mom)
