Bible Songs

One of the gifts that Eva got for Christmas this year was a set of DVDs called Bible Songs.  Even if you haven't been to church since 1992, you will probably know every song on these DVDs.  It completely takes Ryan and me back to our children's choir days.  I'll be completely honest and say, that I can hardly stand to listen to it because the songs are so old.  I hate to watch it even less, because it was literally filmed in about 1993 so the "fashion" (if you can call it that) is from the same time frame.  It's crazy!  But (before my mom gets her feelings hurt) Eva LOVES it!  She wants to watch it daily and probably multiple times a day, but we try to limit the amount of tv she watches... even if it is bible songs.

Through watching this, she has learned lots of songs and does a lot of the motions with them.  It's really sweet.  Yesterday, she started singing a song and we quickly realized that she was singing "I may never march in the infantry, ride in the cavalry, shoot the artillery... I'm in the Lord's army..."  You all remember that song, right?!  Well, in Eva's little mind the line "shoot the artillery" was translated to "Sue ree said to me".  Ryan and I heard that and were like, what is she trying to say?  So I started singing the song in my head and burst our laughing.  I yelled to Ryan in the other room, "Shoot the artillery!"  And then he died laughing.  Meanwhile, Eva is giving us the "why are you laughing?" face.  Funny stuff!

You really can't make this stuff up!

On a much sweeter note, today after church, we were asking Eva about what she did and who she played with, etc.  She started telling us about a little boy who was crying because he missed his mommy.  We asked if she had talked to him to make him feel better and she said no.  She sat quietly for a second and then said, "I wish I told him 'I'm sorry'."  How sweet is that?  Such a tender heart that Jesus is developing in that little girl.  I love to watch it.

Sweet Eva. That is precious. And her song translating skills are hilarious. They are so innocent.
