My brother and his wife were also there this weekend along with their boxer, Xena. She is a big boxer and is really cute, but I am extremely allergic to her. About 30 minutes after they got to my parents house, I started itching. I took allergy medicine that night, but it makes me so tired and I can hardly function the day after I take it. So I didn't take any medicine on Saturday night and on Sunday, I started sneezing and couldn't stop. I've been miserable ever since. I stopped sneezing yesterday, but now my sinuses have been so irritated, that I'm still stopped up and my head hurts. On top of my allergies to Xena, Eva was terrified of her. She's a really sweet and good dog, but she's taller than Eva. And I think I wrote a couple of weeks ago about the dog that jumped up on me and Eva when we were in the front yard. She's been scared ever since. So, we had to make sure that Eva and Xena were never in the same room. Then Sunday morning, when we were getting ready for church, Xena was in the bedroom where my brother was. Eva, not knowing this, pushed the door open to follow her Uncle Russ only to be met by Xena. Thankfully, Russ grabbed Xena, but Eva threw her milk down, closed her eyes, and started screaming. It took a while to calm her down after that. Needless to say, the Frederick family will not be getting a dog any time soon.
Now on to the fun part of the weekend... My parents got Eva an Easter basket that was full of goodies. She had bubbles, "Dora the Explorer" glasses, colors and a coloring book, play-doh. The kid raked it in. She went through a whole container of bubbles in 24 hours and did not understand that we didn't have any more. She was very upset. We "hid" eggs for her in my parents yard and she had so much fun finding them. My mom didn't put anything inside of the eggs because she knows that we don't really give Eva candy. But Eva stopped with each egg she found to open it. You would think that she would be disappointed or something, but she wasn't at all. I guess if you aren't expecting anything inside, then it's just as much fun to open it and put it back together. It was really cute.
We also had a vomiting incident this weekend, but I'll spare the details. And Eva didn't sleep very well... she never does when we got out of town. Despite all of that, we had a fun time with family. Eva LOVES her Gi, Papa, Uncle Russ, and Aunt Renetta. She got and gave lots of "big hugs" and "kisses" this weekend. It was really sweet.
Ryan had to stay home with her from church yesterday morning, so we don't have any cute "dress-up" family pictures of the weekend. The whole not sleeping issue resulted in some behavior issues on Sunday morning. Her little body just couldn't handle any more. She did sleep for an hour and a half while the rest of us went to church. We came home to a completely different kid.
These are the pictures of the weekend. Enjoy!
