Guilty Pleasures

Today, I got to do something rare and wonderful. In my new perspective on life this activity was fun and made me happy and even relaxed. What did I do, you ask? I went grocery shopping withOUT my 21 month old angel. :) I took my time and never once had to say "sit down" "no" "do you need a spanking?". I was even able to laugh with another mom at the store who did have her daughter with her. We almost collided at the end of an aisle. As I apologized, she said, "No. I'm sorry. We just HAD to get the big cart." (The big cart is the one that has a separate seating area for the kiddos.) I laughed and told her I completely understood. I came home told Ryan what a great time I had. He laughed. I'm not sure if he completely understands, though, because he hasn't made a full grocery trip with Eva in tow in quite some time. Again with the change of perspective... so funny to me these days!

The other great thing about today is that we began working with the nearly/newlywed class at our church. We are really excited about this. This opportunity came at just the right time for us. We had been feeling really discouraged with our place/purpose at our church and had even contemplated leaving. The very day that we thought might be our last, we ran into another couple who is also in leadership in the class. She just in conversation told us that they were looking for another couple to help out in there. Long story short, Ryan and I started praying about it. The teacher of the class, called us a couple of weeks later and we just had complete peace about the situation. As it turns out, the teachers of the class had been praying specifically about Ryan and me joining with them before we ran into the other couple. This couple didn't know at all that the teachers had been praying about us. That is just too many "coincidences" to not be God. We feel like we are exactly where we are supposed to be for right now. Yea God!

Tomorrow we have a play date, so check back for some pictures!

I can relate to how enjoyable a trip to the grocery store without children can be, especially after many trips with all three of my girls in tow.

I have been meaning to reply to this post. I am so excited you guys are helping with the newlywed class. It is such a great ministry, and I know you and Ryan will be great there. I hope you are enjoying it!
